The Terminology of 'Hu Zhuang' (part 3/4)

A Discussion on "The Science of Chinese Martial Art"

Ba Ji Quan (Eight Extreme Fist / Eight Polar Fist) extracts and accumulates the feature of a bear and a tiger, ie. Hu Zhuang (Tiger Pose) and Xiong Zhuang (Bear Pose). Let us take a look at an example, the Gong Bu
Zhuang which is an entity of the Hu Zhuang.

I would now reveal what the late master Liu Yun Qiao indoctrinated as a contribution to the Chinese Martial Art, to prove the uniqueness, virtuosity and the value of the Chinese Martial Art Culture.

Annexure : The Arched Bow Stance - The specialties of Ba Ji Quan: Shi Zhi Jing, Chan Si Jing, Bao Zha Jing

Explanation as follow:
1 - 2 - Falling strength and Rising strength, body straight to become the center of gravity.
3 - 4 - Basically, must sustain left and right level, and falling strength must be firm.
5 - 6 - No 5 strength of waist swing and no 6, strength of knee are cross-link. (picture on the right)
7 - 8 - Strength to move frontward and move backward.
9 - 10 - Holding downward triangular strength.
9 - 9" - 9" is 9's opposite strength.
10 - 10" - 10' is 10's opposite strength.
11 - 12 - No 11 is inner knee hanging strength, No 12 is upper knee pushing strength.
13 - 14 - Left and right level balancing strength (picture on the right) and form a cross with 7 - 8
A - B - Both legs must balance at a parallel level.
X - Y - Horizontal, form a balancing strength parallel with 7 - 8
|

The energy aggregated from the various segments forms a quantity of balance energy as a whole, similar to the concept of the energy from a round substance, able to widespread its energy invariably when explosion occurs.

This is the most important basic theory of Ba Ji Quan and also the essence or focus of Shi Zhi Jing (crossed strength), Chan Si Jing (Linked strength), Bao Zha Jing (explosive strength) and more so for the Ba Ji Quan. Unfortunately, most books available today is unable to provide an in depth explanation or even contained misleading materials.
