Strength of Ba Ji Quan

Ba Ji Quan can be divided into different categories. The main 3 are namely, shi zi jing, bao zha jing, chang si jing. The training method differs and so does their objectives. The training of strength is a difficult task, only the incumbent is able to realize.

1. chen zui jing : sink and subside when applying force, maintaining straight and stable body.

2. shi zi jing : is the most unique pose in Ba Ji Quan using the theory of inertia; where an action will be accompanied by a reaction and functions based on equilibrium of human body, the centre of gravity extend to all directions. This creates the effect of bao za jing.

3. chan si jing : occurs when shi zi jing twist and turn, like silk was spun, or a spiral movement.

Besides that, strength of Ba Ji has a few categories and practice method.

The Value of Ba Ji Quan and its features

Ba Ji Quan is not taught in public. Its values and status were widely recognized in the ancient time. From the narration of a knight of Ming Dynasty, Nanking Central National Art Organization accepted it as a compulsory curricular. The escorts of most President of Chinese Republic was also specialized in Ba Ji Quan. In the army, it was categorised as the first class in the wushu category. All these become the testament of Ba Ji Quan’s value.

In a nutshell, here’s a few main features :

1. the training method is comprehensive and completely logical fulfil science theories

2. maintain the uniqueness of release strength and easy to apply

3. each steps are simple, easy to learn, taking ‘protection’ as the aim

4. the sinking method is realistic. It is not bogus

5. simple and comprehensive doesn’t mean crude. It is a practical experience and from the fruit of hardwork and realistic experience

6. to excel as a wushu practitioner by following the recommended methods in order, and progress towards the direction of ‘art’
